As sales/marketing coordinator for NSI, I read a lot of articles pertaining to consumer behaviors and trends on how people are making purchases.
I recently heard a term from an article written by Claire Ratsuhny of www.WriteStategy.biz (a small business resource), that referred to a term called “Precycling”, coined by The Intelligence Group. It’s basically referring to our current trend to shop less frequently, buy in bulk and repurpose what we can. This cuts down on waste and recycling, hence the meaning of “precycling.” Pretty cool, right?
Well buying in bulk or refill sizes has another advantage…It saves you money! I call that the Costco Principle. If I asked you why you shop at Costco, BJ’s, Sam’s Club or any other store like those, you would quickly answer “Because it’s cheaper!” Let’s face it, you really don’t need 36 rolls of toilet paper in the house, but it saves you money, so you go for it. That makes you a smart shopper. The question is, “Are you using that same shopping savvy when you purchase nail products for your business?”
Buy in bulk is an extremely easy way to cut down on expenses for your business. Let’s look at a couple of examples:
• If you use Attraction Nail Liquid, the price per oz. drops 22% when you purchase the 32 Fl. Oz. (946mL) size over the 16 Fl. Oz. (480mL). Same great product, double the amount, but 22% less per oz!

• How about gels? The price per oz. drops 53% (!!!) when you purchase the 4 Oz. Refill (113 g) over the 1 Oz. (30 g) size.

Im totaly agree whith Jessie;we have clients (from salons)here in Romania that buy refil sisez of gels ,because of course is cheaper; so..the the principle COSTCO is working.We subscribe to you Jessie.
