NSI Educators Sweep Texas Beauty Show Nail Competition
NSI Sponsors 1st and 2nd Place Finishers in Novice Salon Success
DALLAS, Texas (2/13/2008) – On October 28th 2007, two NSI educators took leave from working the booth at the Texas Beauty Show to compete in their very first nail competition. Melinda Haggerty and Sarah Burel have been educating for NSI for several years. Rise’ Carter, NSI National Director of Sales and Education, was very impressed with their skills and decided NSI should sponsor Haggerty and Burel for this competition. As last minute entries, Haggerty and Burel scoured the malls and trade show floors to find adequate models, and pull together the necessary items they would each need. Carter stayed up late with Haggerty and Burel to help them outline their strategy. “I was so extremely proud of both of them for their passion and willingness to push past their comfort zones. I am excited to watch their progress as we move forward.”
Haggerty and Burel competed in the Novice Salon Success category. The morning of the event, their hand models were no-shows. The girls remained calm and quickly found new models. Once the competition began, the nerves and stress of finding models melted away and both competitors were completely focused. Their calm demeanor, excellent application techniques, and time management skills paid off. Haggerty earned a first place finish, and Burel came in second place.
Haggerty’s first place finish now places her in the Veteran Division of future competitions. NSI looks forward to supporting these two fierce competitors in 2008.
