What White Balance UV Gel is Right for You?
After a recent conversation with a nail technician, we realized that while our Balance UV Gel line is extremely comprehensive...
and perfect for professional gel technicians; it can be a little confusing and intimidating for someone just starting out with gels.
Case in point: This particular technician of 20+ years in the industry was well-versed in acrylics, but decided she wanted to add gels to her service menu, as gels are growing in popularity here in the United States. Because she is a devotee of the Attraction Acrylic System, her first stop was the NSI web site to look into our Balance UV Gel System. (Smart girl!) While browsing through our online shop, she realized she needed some guidance. She knew she needed a white gel for the French overlays she planned on performing, but which one? Body Builder, Brush On, Sculptor….Why so many, and which was right for her?
This document will break down our white Balance UV gels; explaining how they are different from one another, as well as the type of technician and gel service they are designed for.
BRUSH ON FRENCH WHITE
Viscosity: Brush On gel is incredibly smooth and creamy. It is much thinner than a traditional builder gel.

Type of Gel Service: Brush On gel is only suitable for natural nail or tip and overlays. It does not have the structure for sculpting on a form.
BALANCE BODY BUILDER BRIGHT WHITE & SOFT WHITE
Viscosity: Body Builder gel is thicker than traditional builder gel, but still self-levels.

Type of Gel Service: Body Builder Gel can be used for natural nail or tip and overlays. They can also be used in thin layers to sculpt on a form. Refer to Depth of Cure article to understand how to apply thicker gels in layers to ensure a complete cure.
Who Should Use: Body Builder gel is really suitable for any skill level. It is smooth and easy-to-apply for a beginner. Each smile line should be “freeze cured” for about 10 seconds before moving on to the next.
RADIANT WHITE & SOFT WHITE SCULPTOR
Viscosity: Sculptor gels are our thickest (resembling the consistency of peanut butter).
Type of Gel Service: The name says it all. This gel was designed for sculpting on a form. The thick viscosity gives you plenty of working time and the gel will only go where you want it to go; no self-leveling.
Who Should Use: Veteran gel users have the most success with Sculptor. They can sculpt all five nails and cure the whole hand at once; the smile lines won’t budge even before they are cured in a UV lamp.
