Counter Cards
It’s extremely important to use POP (or point-of-purchase) materials in your salon.
They can act as a quiet, yet effective, to-the-point sales pitch to your clients that are visible from the moment they walk through the door. Posters, window banners, etc. are all examples, but quite possibly the cheapest and easiest POP material to us in the salon counter card.
The purpose of a counter card should be to promote a big product promotion or a particular service for a nail salon. The counter card below is giving a customer just enough information on a soak-off gel service that it would spark her to inquire about the service. The counter card is the opening, and you can close the sale!
Counter cards should be displayed in high-traffic areas in the salon (the front desk, seating area, bathroom, etc.). With the limited amount of space that they take up – you can even keep one on your nail station.
Below are some examples of NSI counter cards. Feel free to print these (at home or at a local printer) and use them in your own salon. If you’d like to design your own, search for “Table Tent Templates” online and there are a number of premade templates at your disposal.
Short on retailing or promotional space? Here is an idea. When a tech is not going to be in the salon, clear off the nail table (making it nice and clean) and allow it to be an area to draw attention to clients about current promotions and retail products. This can be a seasonal display for whatever holiday may be approaching, reminding clients of gift certificates for services and showcasing tester products. This area can also be a great place to display your different colors of gels – just paint each gel on a color pop and put the sticks in a flower pot....easy peasy. Keep the mini-display clean and simple and change it every week or so to continue to draw attention.
